To create a truly custom experience, Bright Dashboard Pro allows you to automatically direct users to their assigned dashboard as soon as they log in, or when they click the “Dashboard” links in the WordPress admin bar.
1. Login Redirects
When enabled, this feature bypasses the standard WordPress `/wp-admin/` landing page and sends the user directly to their custom dashboard.
- Navigate to your dashboard settings tab (Client or Admin).
- Locate the Redirect Settings section.
- Toggle the Enable Login Redirect switch to ON.
- Click Save Changes.
How Redirect Priority Works
If a user is granted access to both the Client and Admin dashboards, the plugin follows this priority:
2. Admin Bar Redirects
The WordPress admin bar (the black bar at the top of the site) contains links to the “Dashboard” and the “Site Name.” Bright Dashboard Pro can override these links to ensure the user always returns to their custom view.
- When Login Redirect is enabled, the plugin automatically overrides the admin bar links for any user with access to that dashboard.
- This ensures that clicking your site logo in the top left always takes the client back to their help hub, rather than the default WordPress index.
3. Disabling Redirects
If you want users to see the standard WordPress dashboard first, but still have access to the custom dashboards via the sidebar menu, simply keep the Enable Login Redirect toggle OFF.
Tip: Redirects are most powerful when combined with Replacing the Default Dashboard. Together, they ensure the client never sees the cluttered “At a Glance” and “Quick Draft” widgets of standard WordPress.
